The 5° edition of DESITA AWARD – Pizza & Gelato Experience has been launched last week at TUTTOFOOD during the Milano Food City special week, promoted by Comune di Milano which in May proposes meetings, food culture and tastings in several locations.
The international contest for designers, architects and creatives under 35 competing to rethink the experience around pizza and gelato, involves numerous young designers from all over the world, committed to redesigning – technically and aesthetically – the experience around the two iconic and best known Made in Italy food products in the world.
3 design options for both the categories:
Tools and Packaging: Design or redesign tools, objects, accessories, packaging, etc. in order to improve the functionality, the food preparing and/or the fruition experience from the service and/or customer standpoint.
Interior & Interaction: Design or redesign of environments, furnishing elements, workstations, electronic devices/applications, digital devices, etc. that could improve the food preparation and/or fruition experience from the service and/or customer standpoint
Food Design: Design or redesign effective solutions for food fruibility, new formats, storage elements, preservation and transportation, new materials, communication, etc. that could improve the food preparation and/or fruition experience from the service and/or customer standpoint.
All projects must show a detailed attention to process and product sustainability.
The projects will be evaluated by a special jury composed of designers, chefs, journalists, food experts, lawyers, publishers and professionals.
The winners will receive a cash prize and the opportunity to present the project to the market.
Prizegiving will be in October at HostMilano, the world leading trade fair dedicated to the world of catering and hospitality.
The initiative, in collaboration with TUTTOFOOD, the international B2B show dedicated to food & beverage and organized by Fiera Milano, for the 2019 edition, will be able to count on the patronage of the Comune di Milano and the Mipaaft – Ministero delle Politiche Agricole Alimentari e Forestali e del Turismo -, as well as the support of prestigious partners and companies in the sector.
